woot an actually useful post.

Two bots, by Anonymous. anon|new has new releases and not just their own releases. Again, it’s like baka-upload (yes I love this bot).

The archive bot, anon|old, has some old releases (duh), lots of doujinshi, a few soundtracks. There are some licensed stuff, and I also saw a couple of Heroes eps, so download at your own risk!

Both bots have some raw eps.

There’s a search box at the top of each bot listing, so that could come in handy. (or you could just use your browser’s find feature…)
The bottom of the page shows the bot trigger/stats.

The bots each reside on various channels. Just do a “whois/ [bot name]” while you’re on Rizon to see where they are.

Also tested out the ‘new’ bot, and the speeds are fairly decent (though it jumps around sometimes… not sure if it’s my connection).

Well. Have fun~

LINK TO SITE

DL method: Bittorrent

I’ve started to really like this site lately, mainly because they tag their releases in Japanese AND my computer can read it (unlike when something is done in like Chinese Windows so then if you have English Windows it kinda cannot read the encoding >_>)

So the thing is, I use Winamp and they *finally* added in unicode support… well, this was a while ago, but now I’m in the process of retagging all my music… slowly but surely lol. Found this little program called TagScanner - pretty useful.

Anywayyy back to main topic - so they save me time because I don’t have to retag the files myself, and they also post the covers for every release, which is nice because I like cd scans :D Oh, and they also post the track list so you know what is on the single/album before you download it ^^ The only thing is that they only name the files by track number, and I like to have the track name in the filename as well… so that’s the only extra thing I have to do, but TagScanner does this pretty quick using the tags.

I usually check for their releases on Tokyo Toshokan.

I would first like to thank LosslessONE again for their Christmas gift ^^ It was a site with their releases in mp3 format, available for DDL. It was lovely. (And before you ask, no, that site is no longer up)

Anyway, LosslessONE is a group that releases mostly anime music and mainly in FLAC format. Hence, LosslessONE. However, apparently they’ve now got a bot with their releases in mp3 format. (I think these are really from another group… and somehow the two groups have affiliations..? Oh well.) I am equally grateful for it. Personally, I don’t have enough hard drive space to store my music in FLAC.

The thing I like about LosslessONE is that you can tell from the release’s file name whether there are scans included. With other music release groups, it’s not always clear.

Here are the bots available in their channel:

isoHunt

LINK TO SITE

DL method: Bittorrent only.

So this was the site I wanted to post about. isoHunt is a search engine for torrents. It searches many sites, including ones that I have mentioned such as Tokyo Toshokan or BoxTorrents. To see the full list, see this page. And it’s not just anime or manga, or even just Japanese media. You can find music, movies, TV shows… but not like I’m telling you to download those… *ahem*

It seems that once-upon-a-time part of the site had IRC searching as well, but never have I seen this feature available. It always says “IRC search temporarily offline due to load issues.” I don’t think “temporarily” is quite appropriate. :P

But anyway. It’s midterm season - whee. Back to studying after a loooong break.

I need a nap.

LINK TO BLOG

Another day in the world of kiwiish, exploring the wonders of the internet and bandwidth consumption (xD), I’ve found a blog with a very similar intent as mine! Well, his is much, much better than mine, since he posts regularly, has a consistent format, and, most importantly, has lots of goodies for you hungry leechers :P

I have not had a chance to fully explore ZMAng’s site yet, but from what I’ve seen, he offers you sources of anime including BT, DDL, FTP sites as well as XDCC bots. What impresses me is the time that he took to find out what sort of things you need to do before you can download from, say, a direct download forum.

For now, I won’t attempt to make any more comments. When I have some time (and I remember :P), I’ll be sure to fully explore this seemingly wonderful blog! Oh, how I love the internet :D

Speaking of blogs, I should add some some links to my blogroll… lol.
