love long weekends.
(yes i’m in canada)
was supposed to study lots… not so productive in that area.
but really productive in terms of reducing my ‘to watch’ folder
finished a few more series.
darker than black: last ep was pretty cool. i haven’t been paying that much attention so i’m not sure if i understood what happened. or whether i was supposed to. lol. but this anime was good in terms of animation quality and action.
seto no hanayome: silly all throughout, but it did include some nice themes including loyalty. quite typical main guy saving the main girl. fairly entertaining nonetheless because of its quirkiness. like when san acts manly and does her whole ningyo/ninkyou thing. haha.
nodame cantabile (drama): sooo good. loved it as much as the anime, if not more. both chiaki and nodame were very well played. i was kinda wishing that they had kissed. hehehe. i’m still wondering how they did the orchestra performance scenes. i’m sure not all of the actors could play their instruments… ah well.
lucky star: was pleasantly surprised when a.f.k. came out with the last few eps so quickly (there was a bit of a gap between 19 and 20… i think?) it was random and relatable at the same time. i really liked the style in which they carried out the eps. and even though the later endings with shiraishi minoru (the real guy) singing in random places was kinda stupid, it was fun at the same time. hehe. oh, and the cheerleading routine was cute too ^^
it’s always so hard for me to sit down and watch movies cause they require such time commitment. but if i really think about it, sometimes i end up watching lots of anime eps at the same time, which takes the same amount of time. i dunno *shrug*
this weekend i finally got around to watching two movies
densha otoko movie: i mainly watched this for yamada takayuki, since i really liked him in taiyou no uta and then i saw him again when i watched lunch queen xD his expressions are so cute. it’s not really fair to compare a movie with a drama, since a drama has more time to develop the story and characters. but i do think the drama densha and hermes were better. the movie hermes did not seem as scared as i expected her to be. and the movie densha completely ditched his otaku appearance as soon as he got a makeover. but the story was still sweet, still uplifting like the drama was.
sakuran: definitely not for the little kids hahaha. although there are kids in the movie. this one is about a rebellious and strong-willed prostitute in edo japan. played by anna tsuchiya - sounds interesting right? definitely was. jealousy, deception, forbidden love. mmmm.
still have 3 more eps to go with these shows:
la corda d’oro: so now i’m also caught up with the subs of la corda d’oro. can’t wait to see how kaho-chan does in the final selection. i think it’s a bit unrealistic the way she made her comeback. i mean, if you know you can’t play well you don’t practice on the roof where everybody can hear you right? i think that’s just unnecessary, even if to show that she doesn’t care what other people think of her. *shrug* we’ll see what happens.
romeo x juliet: also caught up with r x j subs. oh what will happen to juliet?? save her romeo! haha. but seriously, i’m not making fun of the show. i’m looking forward to seeing what happens
bokurano: big robots aren’t really my thing, but this show is good. also excited to see the ending.
and then there’s the new shows. i’ve downloaded a bunch of ep 1s. wonder if i can finish them by the end of next week (considering there’ll prolly be more ep 1s coming).
and then there’s dramas that i want to watch too ;_;
