New Season… huh.

Where did my September go?

Can’t believe it’s October tomorrow.

Don’t want the new anime season to start.

*ahh*

So I’ve been looking at my current watch list, and I notice all these shows that end during these weeks. And then I think, yay it’s gonna get shorter. And then it hits me that when shows end, new ones start airing…. >_> So this process repeats every time I think about this. orz

Anyway.

Finished School Days the other day. I don’t know if it was disappointing. I guess a little. One reason might be that the previous eps leading up to the finale came up relatively fast. And then there was this gap. Some of the excitement was lost. The other reason might be that I expected Kotonoha to kill herself too. (I don’t know anything about the game though) She’s truly gone insane. And the murders weren’t done very well either… missing the right sfx or bgm or something…? And Makoto’s eyes… yea that was kinda bad. Well, it’s over. Moving on.

Probably gonna finish Darker Than Black today… watched ep 24 yesterday. Hope the ending is good.

Apparently D.gray-man has more than 52 eps. But then if it was actually 52, then it’d seem kinda weird.

Still loving Lovely Complex. Oh Otani. He gets jealous so easily. They’re both so cute like that. hehe.

Need to catch up on RxJ. Haven’t watched 20/21.

Ohhhh I also finished Hana Kimi :D The farewells were a bit too long (they could’ve shortened the minor characters’ lines… don’t even remember their faces >_>). And it didn’t make me cry, which is weird since I always start tearing up when I see someone in a drama/movie cry.
Sano was cute though. His kiss was kinda awkward, but I guess that makes it a bit more realistic ^^
I hope Nakatsu finds someone! Personally I think Nakatsu is better looking than Sano in the drama xD
The one thing that bugged me throughout the show was Sano’s hair (oh, but this isn’t the reason why I like Nakatsu better xDDD). I mean, what were they thinking when they did his hair??

Gotta catch up on Nodame too. The subs are almost done :o

Oh and Heroes is tomorrow~ Mondays will seem so much better now LOL. Started season 1 last Sat, watched 17 eps by end of Sun. Had last Mon off but had something I really needed to get done, so didn’t finish the season before the season 2 premiere haha. But now I’m all caught up for tmr! so excitedddd xD

Drama

Today is the last day of my two weeks of ‘break’. *sigh*

Started Hana Kimi (drama, Japanese version) yesterday and got caught up with the Eng subs today :D Currently loving it <33 I’m kinda sad it’s gonna end soon (3 more eps!) lol.

Also watching the live-action version of Nodame Cantabile. Chiaki seems much more violent in the drama than in the anime haha. I guess I’m not too fond of the way they exaggerate his punches. But this one’s pretty good too, hehe.

And I’m watching way too many Japanese music shows lately. Let’s see… there’s Music Station (the first show I got into, good for exposing myself to more Japanese music :P)… Hey!Hey!Hey! and Utaban (both of these are good, watch them when there’s at least one artist/band I like on the show)… Music Fighter (well I don’t like this one too much)… Music Japan (good that it’s short, but really don’t like the host)… yea. Probably gonna follow more of the first 3. Not gonna watch an ep if I’m not too interested in *any* of the guests. *yosh* that’s my plan xD

Anyway back to dramas… well this one’s American… I’ve got the entire first season of Heroes that I keep forgetting about since it’s on my external hard drive… really need to start on those cause the 2nd season is gonna start soon!

Oh, I watched Lovely Complex the movie. It was cute, although at some points Koizumi looked about the same height as Otani hahaha. Can’t wait for the next ep of Love Com the anime :P I’m glad that a lot of the series that I’m following will end soon - but that also means the fall season is about to start… hopefully I can restrain myself… have lots to do this term besides work!!

Besides Love Com, I’m really anxious to see how School Days turns out. At first it was so ecchi (well overall it still is) but oh the drama.

Don’t know what to think of D.gray-man. There seems to have been so much filler that it’s hard to get excited over the plot. And it’s kinda disappointing since it’s ending soon and nothing much is happening. Well, I’m gonna stick with it just because but I’m not expecting a lot.

Among other shows that are nearing their end (in terms of subs)…
- Darker Than Black: episodic, not much overall plot, nice animation though
- Lucky Star: random and normal at the same time - just the way I like it haha
- Romeo x Juliet: this is so far from the original play lol. It’s more love and light than the tragedy that it’s supposed to be, wonder how they will end it…?
- Murder Princess: typical anime stuffs. Downloaded the last ep, perhaps watch tonight or tomorrow… Paku Romi-san wa kakkoiiiii~ <3 her as Hitsugaya Toushirou and Osaki Nana
- Seto no Hanayome: well this was always stupid funny, and it still is… so yea.
- Zombie Loan: for some reason I got drawn into this show, like I would watch the next ep as soon as it’s out and I’ve downloaded it…

Zooming through…

So I think I’ve been somewhat successful in not watching *too* many shows… it does help that a lot of shows have ended or are near the end.

Finished Death Note and sola… I really liked the Death Note manga, so I was excited to see it animated and with real voices. I’m still disappointed that L died half way through… eruuuuu~~
sola was alright. Typical I suppose. And kinda tame? I’m glad it was short, or else it might have just dragged on, which would mean dropping it from my list.

Also finally finished Kim Sam Soon… it was good ^.^ Sam Shik (Jin Hun…?) is definitely really weird, in a weird kinda way o.O It was good laughs throughout, with several good tear-jerking moments :) And cake~~ me wants cake~~

Random movie: Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo. Stories involving time travel always confuse me at some point, but it was still enjoyable. Simple, yet beautiful animation.

Waiting to finish: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, Nodame Cantabile, NANA, Darker Than Black. Yamanade… waiting for the last ep’s sub. patiently :P Nodame… also waiting for last ep, but I know it will come fairly soon :) I really enjoyed it. NANA… 3 more eps to go. I’m worried about Nana ;_; and Ren too… but Reira and Shin are so cute :3 Can’t wait to see the end ^^ Darker Than Black got somewhat more exciting than my first impression, closer to my expectation of it.

Dropped: Shining Tears, El Cazador. Shining Tears was uninteresting, and El Cazador’s eps seem filler-esque… the plot was advancing soooo slowly, nothing too important ever really happens.

Currently going strong: Bleach, D.gray-man, Lovely Complex, Lucky Star, Romeo x Juliet. Secondary shows are Hayate no Gotoku and Seto no Hanayome.

Spring Season Update

Sooo not good… there are too many new shows being subbed x.x

Darker than Black - Hmm. I don’t think it was quite as exciting as I was expecting. I’ll keep watching though.

Bokurano - I haven’t read Lord of the Flies, but from what I’ve heard about this, the premises of Bokurano does seem similar in some way. 15 kids (that’s a lot of main characters o.O) supposedly get stuck in this ‘game’ and it’s like real life except there are giant robots attacking them. So, they have to work together to survive… kinda thing. Once again, I’m recognizing the voices of certain seiyuus, which really throw me off because I don’t want to see the new character as the one that the seiyuu had previously voiced. It’s so hard. Anyway, giant robots are not really my thing, plus the # of eps is currently unknown (if a series is short, I give it less thought before deciding to keep it)… this is not a keeper as of this point.

sola - the main character is a freak for pictures of the sky. He takes pictures of the sky and even hangs them up in his house o.O I like taking pictures as well and sometimes I take pictures of the sky (I still need to capture a full moon at some point…), so I definitely like this show right now :D There’s also a girl that he meets, of unknown origin. I guess we’ll see where that goes.

Lucky Star - all I can really say is o_O and LOL. The main char is voiced by Aya Hirano, but it doesn’t really bother me as much as some of the other seiyuu, since I don’t see her other characters in this new one (Suzumiya Haruhi, Amane Misa, Trapnest Reira… though Reira’s voice does annoy me a bit). I guess that means she’s good at seiyuu-ing? hahaha. Anyway, the first ep was almost all full of pointless/weird/nonsensical conversations, but it was well-delivered in a way that I was like WTF but I still wanted to keep following the conversation wondering where it would go or what would come next. Ohhh my ^^ (Yes, I’m watching this!!)

Romeo x Juliet - When I saw a sub of this released, I was like, oh geez R&J in anime form?? And then when I watched it, the OP was a cover of Josh Groban’s ‘You Raise Me Up’. I laughed because I have a friend who is a big fan of him. It definitely would’ve be more interesting if she was also a big anime fan xD But back to the show. So I don’t know what other twists they plan to put in it, but so far there are flying Pegasuseses (’Pegasi’ looks weird), and Juliet is not quite in the same class as Romeo… So now I wonder - will they make an anime for Hamlet? Or maybe Macbeth?? OHHH - MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAMMM!! LOL.

I hope I don’t pick up any more shows… damn report that I still haven’t started…

Spring Season

April is here and lots of new series are being subbed. Too bad I’ve got a big report to do and not much time to do it :(

Here’s what I’ve tried out so far:

Murder Princess - It’s not anything especially good, but it hasn’t lost my interest either. What had originally caught my eye was the image of the princess posing with her (well, Fallis’) sword - if you look up Murder Princess on AniDB, that’s the image.

Kamichama Karin - I wasn’t too interested in this at first. My opinion hasn’t changed after watching ep 1 (actually, it probably went down). The story revolves around these rings that have magical powers, but there are three boys and their transformations are kinda lame. What’s worse, I couldn’t stop hearing Nagisa from Strawberry Panic, since the same seiyuu is the voice of Karin, the main char of this show. Definitely not gonna follow this one.

Hayate no Gotoku - the main char has ugly hair and is too stupid. I wonder why he hadn’t run away from home long ago. I am reminded slightly of Louise from Zero no Tsukaima, but not as strongly as the above. For now, I’m hoping it’ll be a short series, and that it’ll be funny enough to amuse me.

El Cazador de la Bruja - it’s got the Trigun/Gun X Sword setting. The animation is not bad, and ep 1 makes me want to find out more about the main char, Ellis. A bonus is that the music is done by Kajiura Yuki - I really liked the music she did for Tsubasa Chronicle ^^ I do look forward to future eps.

Darker than Black - waiting for an ep 1 sub. Hopefully it is as cool as it looks. lol. I’m hoping for something like D.Gray-man or Trinity Blood.

Edit: I was waiting for an ep 1 sub of Lucky Star too.

Picky, picky, must be picky~~
